The Whole 9 Tree Service is a great place to go for all of your firewood needs. We can deliver up to 3 and 1/2 cords to your home or you can pick up your own wood from our lot. All of our wood comes from native trees we collected from tree removal services the previous year. Southeast Virginia is home to many types of trees excellent for burning. Heating your home with firewood is a cost effective alternative to gas and electric heat. Wood heated homes also just feel better.

Hardwood Variety

We only sell hardwood firewood however not all hardwood is the same. Oak is considered the king of firewood however that is truly a point of preference. Different types of wood have different qualities for burning. Some wood is better for getting your fire hot quickly. Others are better for staying hot longer. This is why we mostly sell mixed hardwood to our customers.

Red Maple wood burns at much less BTU’s than White Oak wood however it is much easier to start your fire and warm your home quicker with Red Maple or Poplar wood. Sweet Gum wood gets a bad rep as firewood but it is one of the better burning woods out there. It burns clean and long. You can throw it in before bed and not worry about it going out. Black Cherry wood smells amazing and burns very hot and the coals will keep for a long time.
